Project

OSF HealthCare’s vision of a collaborative, one-stop rural health care center has been opened for a year. The newly upgraded facility plans to both improve upon and bring back some functions the building provided since its days as St. Mary’s Hospital. The multi-phase renovation created some challenges and barriers, and we appreciate the community’s patience through that.

Step Inside

The north entrance features a new glass-encased facade designed to let in as much natural light as possible to highlight the facility’s Main Street concept. The first floor is home to a new OSF Marketplace and TECH (Technology, Education and Community Health) Cafe along with a renovated diagnostic imaging and laboratory area featuring new x-ray machines, a nuclear medicine camera, a new CTE camera and a 3-D mammography machine.

Rehabilitation and Therapy Services

The second floor is home to OSF’s Rehabilitation and Therapy Services for those who need physical and occupational therapy. The second floor is stocked with a gym and treatment room. The therapy area also features a Solo-Step harness system, which can be used to help those with balance issues complete physical therapy without having to worry about falling.

The second floor also has a separate room for speech therapy that was given special consideration to allow for quiet privacy and allow for focused therapy with minimal distractions.

Other Renovations

The third-floor features spaces used by external organizations such as the American Cancer Society, a Patient Resource Center, OSF Behavioral and Mental Health and the Cardiovascular Institute.

The fourth floor has an Anticoagulation Clinic along with a primary care and telehealth facility. One new offering at the facility is a Prompt Care office located on the fourth floor like the OSF immediate care sites in Ottawa.

The fifth floor is a space for external health care providers. The Illinois Urologic Health Surgeons are currently located on in this space.

The offices on the renovated floors are open concept with large windows, allowing for more natural light that reaches into the middle parts of the building. The outer rooms have been redesigned as exam rooms and multipurpose rooms with glass walls that let the light through.
